With the promulgation of the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2018 the State of Pakistan has taken a positive initiative in recognizing the rights of the Trans Community. However, still a lot of work has to be done which includes sensitizing the community as a whole to respect them as normal individuals of the society while encouraging the corporate sector to extend employment to the Trans community as a matter of routine so that their presence may become a norm rather an exception. CrossEdge intends to take these positive steps by encouraging the state authorities including the provincial governments to initiate policies where Trans personal be granted quotas in government services and special vocational and teaching schools may be opened for their skill development.
